The family is the cornerstone of children's security and stability throughout their development. Families present in varied forms from single-parents, to re-constituted; intergenerational and extended families as well as intact nuclear families.
I conduct assessment of family dynamics and interactions to assist family members towards identifying and resolving their issues or conflicts
I provide therapy for parents/caregivers who find themselves at a loss using their usual adaptive coping mechanisms to manage their family
I also provide family therapy where family members find themselves engaging with each other in dysfunctional ways which can lead to a crisis in family life.
“Family life is full of major and minor crises -- the ups and downs of health, success and failure in career, marriage, and divorce -- and all kinds of characters. It is tied to places and events and histories. With all of these felt details, life etches itself into memory and personality. It's difficult to imagine anything more nourishing to the soul.”
